With SMS Connector, an admin creates an SMS Group: a set of Teams users who share one or more text numbers. Everyone in the group sees all the messages sent to the shared number and can send from it. Members do not need their own numbers. The shared number shows up in Teams as a group chat, so conversations stay where the team already works.
All incoming messages on the shared number are visible to every member of the group.
Members send texts and picture messages from the shared number, so replies always come from the business number.
The shared number appears as a group chat in each member’s Teams chat list, on desktop, web and mobile.
Group members do not need numbers of their own. Assign one or more numbers to the group.
Admins create groups, add or remove members and assign numbers in the portal. Deleting a group returns its numbers to the pool.
