Release Notes for v2.18: New Features & Enhancements

At Teammate we stay committed to continuously enhancing our platforms to deliver a better, faster, and more reliable experience for our customers. As part of this commitment, we are rolling out System Upgrade v2.18 during a scheduled maintenance window on Sunday, September 21, 2025, between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM EDT.

This release introduces a mix of new features, performance improvements, and refinements that empower administrators, improve communication workflows, and expand integration capabilities.

What’s new in Teammate v2.18?

ACS Call App

The Call App has been fully transitioned to Microsoft Azure Communication Services (ACS), providing a stronger foundation for reliability, scalability, and security. This upgrade modernizes the calling experience and paves the way for faster feature releases in the future. Users may notice some changes in call flows and interface behavior—please contact support for the comprehensive Change Notification that details these updates.

Bulk Update Users: “Leave As Is” Option

Administrators now have more flexibility when performing bulk updates. With the new “Leave As Is” option, specific fields can be left untouched during bulk operations, preventing accidental overwrites and giving admins greater control when managing large groups of users.

Granular Pause Inbound Calling Controls

The Pause Inbound Calling feature has been enhanced to support granular control based on Teams presence states. Instead of applying the feature broadly, admins can now specify exactly which presence states (e.g., Busy, Do Not Disturb, In a Meeting) should trigger inbound call pauses. This ensures smoother workflows and reduces interruptions at critical times.

Sideloading Unified App

Organizations now have the option to sideload the Unified App, enabling easier testing, controlled rollouts, and pilot deployments. This allows IT teams to evaluate new app versions in a safe environment before making them broadly available to all users.

Bulk Upload for Operator Connect Express

Provisioning phone numbers is now faster and more efficient with the ability to bulk upload numbers for Operator Connect Express. This improvement helps organizations onboard large user groups more quickly while minimizing manual data entry and reducing setup time.

Tech Prefix for SIP Trunks

When creating SIP Trunks, administrators can now define an outbound tech prefix. This gives greater flexibility in routing calls, supports advanced interoperability needs, and enables organizations to align their SIP trunk configurations with unique network or carrier requirements.

What has changed?

SMS Contact Management

We’ve refined the way SMS contacts are handled. Contacts are now saved, updated, and organized more efficiently, reducing duplication and improving accuracy. These changes make it easier to find and manage SMS conversations, creating a smoother messaging experience overall.

Billing Tag in API

Developers and administrators can now retrieve users by billing tag through the API. This change provides more flexibility for integrations, especially when tracking costs, managing multiple customer accounts, or creating detailed usage reports.

During the upgrade window (1:00–6:00 AM EDT):

  • The API and web portal will be unavailable for provisioning or modifications.
  • Teams Apps (PBX, Chat, and SMS) may be intermittently unavailable.
  • Calling services may be disrupted for up to 10 minutes at some point.
  • Customers with dedicated infrastructure will not be impacted by call interruptions.
