On a desk phone call? Teams shows you as busy. In a Teams meeting? Your PBX stops sending you queue calls. TeamMate keeps presence in step in both directions.

Teams shows a status such as Available, Busy or Do Not Disturb, but by default it only knows about activity in Teams. If people also take calls on a desk phone, Teams can show them as Available mid-call, and the PBX can keep sending queue calls to someone presenting in a Teams meeting. With PBX Connector, TeamMate syncs presence both ways: Presence Sync updates Teams from the PBX, and Presence Pause updates the PBX from Teams.
When a user answers on a desk phone or other device, Teams changes to Busy, and back to Available when they hang up.
When a user is unavailable in Teams, for example in a meeting, inbound queue and hunt group calls skip them and ring someone who is free.
Pick which Teams statuses pause calls, such as Busy, In a meeting, Presenting or Do Not Disturb.
Set the user to Do Not Disturb on the PBX, pausing calls on all their devices. Works with PBXs that support the standard SIP event package (RFC 6665).
Decline calls to the Teams app only, for a set number of minutes or until the user is available again, while desk phones keep ringing.
If you allow it, users can turn the feature on or off and choose their own trigger statuses from the Teams app.
The customer’s Microsoft 365 admin approves presence monitoring once. In tenants of 650 or more users, each user also approves it in the app.
For each PBX, turn on pausing and choose PBX Do Not Disturb or Teams-only pausing, plus the trigger statuses.
Presence updates automatically. Calls resume as soon as the user is available in Teams.

Yes, with TeamMate PBX Connector. Presence Sync sets a user to Busy in Teams while they are on a PBX call on another device, and Presence Pause stops PBX calls from ringing a user who is unavailable in Teams.
A TeamMate feature that pauses inbound calling based on Teams presence. When a user is unavailable in Teams, call queue and hunt group calls ring other available users instead of the busy user or their voicemail.
PBXs that support the standard SIP event package (RFC 6665), including BroadWorks, NetSapiens and Crexendo, 3CX, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Avaya Aura and IP Office, Unify and Mitel MiVoice. On other PBXs, use Teams-only pausing.
No. While a user is paused, calls never reach them, so they cannot reach their Teams voicemail. If users rely on Teams voicemail, leave Presence Pause off.
No. Calls resume automatically when the user’s Teams status returns to Available. If the provider allows it, users can also adjust the feature in the Teams app.
A one-time presence monitoring consent from the customer’s Microsoft 365 admin. Because of a Microsoft requirement, tenants with 650 or more users also need each user’s consent.
